Chalton Gallery is delighted to present the exhibition Hello My Name Is by Paul Schneider. The exhibition ‘Hello My Name Is’ takes us from the office metaphor to the every day repetitive activities of any job. As in previous installations: Schneider employs the language of the cultural virtual interface in the creation of navigable immersive environments where virtual spaces are physically simulated and real people are subject to become virtualize in cartoon like immersive installations.
Schneider’s practice explores pre-existing images and familiar languages of efficient communication – here the graphic, the sign and the expedient becomes a vocabulary and a subject matter. Objects of administration, materials and forms that often relate to the recording and documentation of everyday life are embraced and utilized. Here through continuous changes and translations in different materials, forms and scales; works move from images to objects, objects to images, posters to books, from vinyl stickers to photocopies, rooms are treated like folded pieces of paper.
